Dr. Christian Laman’s achievements throughout his medical career are truly outstanding. He graduated from The Florida State University with a bachelors of science degree in Biology in 1999. He then went on to receive his medical degree from Andrew Taylor University, Kirksville, Missouri. Dr. Laman was trained at Largo Medical center in general primary care and anesthesia. He completed his anesthesia residency at Largo Medical Center in Largo Florida, in 2010. He is currently board certified in Anesthesiology through the American Osteopathic board of Anesthesiologists. 

Dr. Laman comes to us from Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point where he served as Facility Medical Director of Anesthesia Services from 2017 to 2021. Dr. Laman is a member of the Pasco County Medical Society, American Medical Association, Florida Osteopathic Medical Association, and American Osteopathic Board of Anesthesiology. 

Dr. Laman’s practice philosophy is treating every individual patient as a ‘whole person’ as he was trained in osteopathic medical school. He focuses on healthy dietary habits and exercise to promote health and wellness, as well as preventative care. 

Dr. Laman is skilled in many in-office procedures such as skin lesion removals, neck and back injections, joint injections, and many other procedures. 

He and his wife, Dr. Jennifer Laman, DO, have two daughters, Victoria and Sofi, and a son, Ethan. Dr. Laman enjoys cooking, spear fishing, sand volleyball and tennis.

Santos Ruiz Cordero, MD, JD, was born in Puerto Rico where he attended the University of Puerto Rico Mayaguez and received his BS Cum Laude in Biology. He then went to the Univesidad Autónoma de Guadalajara where he obtained his MD degree and returned to Puerto Rico to do his Rotational Internship at Hospital Comunitario Buen Samaritano in Aguadilla Puerto Rico.

Dr. Ruiz-Cordero has been working as a primary care physician and an ER screener physician in different settings including Urgent Care, Emergency Room, outpatient primary care, correctional medicine, addiction medicine, and outpatient mental health clinics.

Dr. Ruiz-Cordero also earned a JD degree in Puerto Rico and is admitted to practice law at The Supreme Court of Puerto Rico, Federal Court for the District of Puerto Rico, 11th Circuit federal Appeals Court, and The Supreme Court of the United States.

He and his wife Maria Zayas-Vazquez cofounded Zayas-and Ruiz Immigration Attorneys LLC a Law firm 2016, dedicated to Immigration law in Fort Pierce Florida. He enjoys martial arts as he has over 35 years of experience in Karate having a 5th-degree black belt “Renshi”.

Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner

Iona E. Wedderburn, ARNP, ACNP-BC, is an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner and an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner-Board Certified. Acute Care Nurse Practitioners are advanced practice registered nurses that provide care to patients in acute care and hospital settings. This type of advanced practice provider is different from a primary care nurse practitioner. ACNPs see patients when they are sick, admitted to the hospital,  or after a surgical procedure and/or trauma. Their focus is on caring for the adult population (young, middle, and older adults, ages 13 and older) with complex diseases.

Ms. Wedderburn has over six years of experience working in internal medicine at the University of Miami Hospital and Mercy Hospital in Miami, Florida. She received her Master's Degree from Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida. Barry University is a private Catholic university in Miami Shores.

Ms. Wedderburn has been married for over 30 years and is the proud mom of two grown sons, the oldest of whom is a physician. She enjoys cooking, baking, crocheting, concerts, going to the opera, plays, and comedy shows, and spending time with her family, especially in the outdoors and camping.
