Connie Braun, MD, completed her internal medicine training at New York Hospital in affiliation with Cornell University, Flushing, New York. She was an honor graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in sociology and communications in secondary education from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She also holds a Master of Arts degree in psychotherapy from Wester Michigan University. She received her medical degree from St. George’s Medical School in 1997.
Dr. Braun comes to Hernando County with a wide range of experience as a hospitalist and as an internal medicine specialist. While attending medical school she received the Jeoffrey Bourne Scholarship and was admitted to Tau Kapa Academic Fraternity.
Dr. Braun is a member of the American Medical Association, American Board of Internal Medicine, the Michigan Medical Society, and has been a president of the United States Board of Medical Specialties and is a member of the American Medical Review & Learning Center.
Jaime Luis Torres II, MD comes to Unity VIP from a 12+ year career in the United States Army where he served as a flight surgeon in Belgium and in Afghanistan, participating in “Operation Enduring Freedom.” Dr. Torres received his medical degree from the highly prestigious Ivy League medical school at Cornell University Medical College, New York-Presbyterian Hospital, New York City. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Cornell University College of Agricultural & Science in Ithaca, New York.
Dr. Torres completed both his residency in internal medicine and his internship at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. He holds or has held certifications in the following areas: Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS).
He is a member of The Florida Medical Association, American College of Physicians, National Hispanic Medical Association, VFW, Legion, and the American Medical Major Physicians Association, and the Society of US Army Flight Surgeons. Dr. Torres and his wife, Faye, are the proud parents of two boys – Jaime and Michael. He enjoys scuba diving, snorkeling, and motorcycle riding and is an avid Grillmaster.

Samir M. Shah, MD
General Practice
Samir Shah, MD, is a general practice physician who did post-graduate residency at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. Dr. Shah comes to Pasco County after establishing a highly successful private practice for five years in West Virginia.
He was born and raised in Point Pleasant, West Virginia, and has spent his life dedicated to patient care and long-term healthy lifestyle. Dr. Shah graduated valedictorian from his high school in 2003. He received his BS in Cognitive Neurology from the University of Michigan in 2007 and returned to West Virginia and completed his MD from Marshall University in 2015.
Dr. Shah is proud to have been selected by AMSA to participate in an eight-week training in Ifakara, Tanzania. He also did a year of research at the Medical University of South Carolina working with leading minds in stroke and movement disorder. He is the co-author and author of several articles and abstracts. While at Marshall University he was the founding member of Phi Delta Epsilon.
Dr. Shah followed in his father’s footsteps who was also a physician that came from India to the United States in the 1970s. His sister and brother-in-law are also physicians. He is married and he and his wife, who is also a physician, moved to Florida in October of 2021. He speaks fluent Hindi and Gujarati. He enjoys playing tennis, weightlifting, running, and traveling. He continues to follow Michigan athletics (NCAA football and basketball) and American and foreign film and music.
Evelyn Castillo Delgado, MD comes to Unity VIP Health Care with over 30 years of experience as a family physician in evaluating and effectively managing patients. She received her medical degree from Universidad Central del Este in San Pedro, Dominican Republic. She completed residency at Hospital Universitario Ramon Ruiz Arnau Hospital in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. She completed an internship at Hospital de Areia de Humacao.
In her 30 years of practice, Dr. Delgado has assisted in directing a research group in Florida in the development of new therapies. She has served as a consultant physician at SSS Advantage Care Insurance in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and was Medical Director for Advantage Managed Care in Area, Puerto Rico. She has served also as a medical director for Federal 330 Center and was Quality Assurance Committee Director for HIMA’s Outpatient Clinics.
In addition, she also practiced for 18 years in Hatillo, Puerto Rico. She is an active member of the Colegio de Médicos Cirujanos de Puerto Rico.
She and her husband have two sons, one daughter, and three grandchildren. She loves movies, dancing, reading, swimming, bicycling, and most of all...spending time with her family.

Dr. Varlakov is board certified in Family Medicine for Unity VIP Health Care. Dr. Varlakov also received his Master’s of Public Health degree from Bulgaria. He graduated from medical school in Bulgaria and was a urologist and Assistant Professor for several years before relocating to North America with his family.
Dr. Varlakov received his residency training at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. He is well-versed in many medical disciplines and emphasizes the prevention of disease and health maintenance as a whole to all of his patients.
Dr. Varlakov specializes in many different areas including preventive and alternative medicine, school/business physicals, diet and weight-loss management, low-cost labs & FREE blood pressure & glucose checks, Integrative Wellness Prevention Programs, Drug-Free Programs, and Personal Health Empowerment and Management.
